I always had a soft spot for construction sites, particulairly the really big ones,
those where people look like ants in an iron nest. 'Megastructures', say it out
loud with some dramatic deep voice and you'll fall in love too. The shapes of iron beams
and stone walls are simple and easy to grasp, but these enormous projects are as
complex as the microstructure of the materials you find on a site.
Zoom into the iron and you get a kind of abstraction and a complex world that
is actually much more interesting than the outcome of a construction site. ![]()
